About Us
Scott and Ryan are designers living in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Both avid skateboarders, they first met down at FDR Skate Park, and soon began talking design between taking runs. With a simple plan of "doing what we love, all the time," they opened their own design studio in Old City during the summer of 2009.
R. Scott Kmiec
Graduating from the University of the Arts in 1998, Scott gained professional design, advertising and marketing experience at Gillespie Advertising (part of McCann-Erickson Worldwide) and as Brand Manager in Marketing of Radian Group. In 2004, Scott set out on his own and started RS Kmiec Design in the bedroom of his apartment. When not pontificating about the importance of simplicity in design Scott can usually be found at the Alter Street Arts & Cultural Society, which he co-founded and manages.
Ryan De La Cruz
Before moving back to Philadelphia and joining RS Kmiec Design, Ryan was living the kind of life most only dream about — traveling the West coast with little more than skateboard and laptop in hand, Ryan has been carving out a successful design career on his terms. Sustaining himself on a steady flow of freelance work from clients such as Comcast, Bresnan, Metrocast, and MedTrust he has amassed an impressive portfolio of print, web and television campaigns. When not on the job he can be found at local coffee shops, taking surf trips to the Jersey Shore, and enjoying the company of his friends and family in Philadelphia.
